Welcome to Season #2 of the podcast with a new title "Menopause Conversations Podcast".  This is the place where we openly discuss the issues that impact women as they move through peri-menopause and beyond.

Many women start to notice changes to their body and their hormones as they reach their mid-forties and they struggle to find someone who understands and can support them.  This is why the Menopause Conversations Podcast was created.

This podcast is not just about how to treat hot flushes (though we will cover this topic and many more) it is also about the emotional, social and spiritual changes that can occur at this time of life.

My name is Angela Counsel, I am a Naturopath & Kinesioogist and I am your host for this podcast.  Each week I will bring you experts on different topics, as well as speak to women who are open to sharing their personal stories about how they transitioned through menopause.  If you have topics you would like covered please email me - angela@angelacounsel.com.

I hope you enjoy the podcast.

# 26 Alcohol and Menopause
Statistics show that women over the age of 45 are the largest consumers of alcohol in Australia and I would assume that these stats are similar in other western countries.  We live in a culture that tells us that alcohol is required to be social, to relax, to have fun, to be part of the group. But there is another side to alcohol consumption, particularly when it comes to women as they are moving through their menopause transition.

 # 27 What is Personalised Health?
I’m sure most women have tried many different diets that didn’t work as they face weight gain during menopause. The fact is, we all have different experiences in Menopause. It’s time we get rid of the generalized and cookie cutter approach to menopause and start seeing every woman as unique. With that, we can seek personalized health that will surely work for each of our unique genetic make-up and help us not survive but thrive in our menopause journey.

# 32 Finding Financial Freedom with Renovating
When I heard that the largest demographic of homeless people in Australia were women over the age of 50, I was completely shocked.  These women are often hidden from society and lose their homes after marriage breakdowns.  This statistic is one that my guest on the podcast this week also wants to change.

# 34 The Truth Behind Some Scary Menopause Headlines
Headlines like “Menopause is Costing Women $17bill in lost income a Year” or “Nearly 1mill women leave the workforce due to Menopause” are quite scary and give women the idea that menopause will cause them to lose their jobs.  While it is possible that some women make decisions to leave their job while they are in their menopause transition the issue is not as big a problem as the headline makes out.
